Faith Formation for Youth

The Middle School Youth Group

The Middle School Youth Group is a space for our young teenagers, grades 6 to 8, to meet for prayer, education, service, and community. Our group meets every Sunday from 9:15am to 10:15am in the William Bichsel, S.J. Hall, as well as other fun and service-oriented events scheduled each month.

The High School Youth Group

The High School Youth Group is a time for our teenagers from grades 9 to 12 to meet for prayer, formation, service, and community. This group meets approximately twice each month from 12pm to 2pm in the William Bichsel, S.J. Hall. We also celebrate Mass once a month, followed by a potluck dinner. Additional social and service-based events are scheduled each month.

Confirmation Preparation for High School Students

Confirmation Preparation for the 2017-2018 year will begin this September with information sessions, planning assistance, and one-on-one meetings with families. Youth who will be between the ages of 16 and 18 by April 2018 are welcome to begin this process!

Youth Ministry Liturgies and More

Youth Ministry Liturgies, Music, and More! Our youth are active participants at the Masses of St. Leo! Youth-led liturgies occur monthly, on a rotating basis, at the weekend Masses. Youth from grades 6 to 12 are invited to participate in Mass as the acolyte, Eucharistic minister, lector, usher. We also invite youth to serve in our music as cantor, choir members, or instrumentalists. Rehearsals occur the Saturday prior to the liturgy. During the summer, we participate in the Youth Migrant Project, a week long service-learning trip in the Skagit Valley.
Questions? Please contact the youth minister at 253-272-5136 ext. 111. They will be happy to meet one on one and provide more information including schedules of events, a longer description of our activities, and information about Safe Environment training for adults who want to participate.
