New Universal Apostolic Preferences for the Society of Jesus

On February 19th, Superior General Arturo Sosa, SJ released four new Universal Apostolic Preferences for the Society of Jesus: : promoting discernment and the Spiritual Exercises, walking with the excluded, caring for our common home, and journeying with youth. These preferences unite Jesuits in mission and provide a point of reference for Jesuits works, including St. Leo parish. These preferences replace the universal apostolic preferences that then Superior General Peter Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, SJ released in 2003, which placed a priority on ministries in China and Africa, the intellectual apostolate, the Roman houses, and ministries among migrants and refugees. You can find more information about the universal apostolic preferences here: Many of our current ministries reflect these priorities, but we are invited to prayerfully consider how these new priorities animate and awaken our imaginations here at St. Leo.
